Good afternoon CSUS Parents and Caregivers,
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! I am so grateful for the dedicated, hard working teachers and staff at CSUS. It has been two years of constant change and unexpected challenge, and the folks at Cambridge Street remain flexible, accommodating, and focused on scholar well being and achievement. We appreciate CSUS Teachers!
Last week The Office of Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (OEIB) and the CPS ELA Department coordinated with CSUS to welcome local Latina author Jennifer De Leon! Ms. De Leon joined CSUS 8th graders for a reading and discussion followed by a Q &A hosted by scholars. She is author of the YA novel Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From (Simon & Schuster) which was chosen as a Junior Library Guild selection, and the essay collection White Space: Essays on Culture, Race, & Writing (UMass Press), which is a recipient of the Juniper Prize in Creative Nonfiction. Ms. De Leon is the editor of Wise Latinas: Writers on Higher Education (University of Nebraska Press), an anthology that won an International Latino Book Award. To learn more about Jennifer, you can visit her website.
In spite of this chilly weather, it’s May! We have much to look forward to in the coming weeks and as we approach the end of the year. Tomorrow and Thursday, May 4 and 5, are MCAS testing for all grades. Please ensure your scholar brings their fully-charged chromebook to school tomorrow.

COVID Updates
Our school community had 2 positive COVID cases identified through outside testing and reported over last week from 4/27-5/3. No additional scholars were impacted or identified as close contacts.
If you are interested in receiving weekly at-home rapid tests for your scholar, opt-in through the CPS Family Portal or by contacting Ms. Howard. Rapid tests should be administered Friday mornings before school. Positive results should be reported to the Main Office.
