Good afternoon CSUS families and caregivers,

Happy St Patrick's Day (last weekend) and Purim (this upcoming weekend) to those in our community celebrating! Another reason to celebrate - the THREE PEAT champion CSUS girls' basketball team, who won against Amigos last Thursday (CSUS boys showed great heart but lost to Putnam Ave).

Please see below for information about staffing updates, this week’s School Site Council/Equity Team and PCO meetings, weekly homework, Scholar Artist of the Week, and important upcoming dates at CSUS.

Staffing update
CSUS is excited to welcome Ariana James as our new Senior Clerk! Ariana is joining Cambridge Street from her current role as clerk in the Safety and Security office at CRLS. This will allow Ms. Gabbidon to fully transition into the role of Family Liaison, which she was hired for earlier this year. Welcome Ms James and congratulations again to Ms. G!

School Site Council and Equity Team meeting
CSUS’ School Site Council and Equity Team has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 21 from 6-7PM. This is an opportunity to learn more about the result of last fall’s Panorama Survey and collaborate around next steps for our our CSUS community. If you are interested in joining the CSUS School Site Council or Equity Team, or in learning more about these opportunities please email me at [email protected].

Thursday March 21 at 7PM: Join the Parent Caregiver Organization (CSUS PCO) meeting
The next PCO meeting will be held virtually, on Thursday, March 21th from 7-8:30PM. This meeting will feature a discussion with the City of Cambridge STEAM Internship Coordinator, who will be discussing their programs to find workplace opportunities for local youth in STEM companies.

We are still actively seeking 6th and 7th grade parents who might like to help out next year, especially caregivers who might be willing to help with PCO leadership.  No special experience is needed to volunteer with the PCO, and it is a great way to support the school.

For more information about the PCO or to donate or sign up as a volunteer, check out our website here.

Opportunities for Caregiver-Facing Workshops (link has been updated!)
Cambridge Street is partnering with Cambridge Health Alliance to support our scholars and families around issues impacting upper-school aged youth, and are hoping to better understand caregiver interest in informational/educational workshops about Youth Mental Health and Substance Awareness and Misuse.

Please click here to indicate your interest in one or both of these topics, and the attendance format (in-person, virtual, hybrid) that would work best for you.

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly HW Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.
