Good afternoon CSUS families and caregivers,

It’s Spirit Week at CSUS! Tuesday was Twin Tuesday and Wednesday was Swap Day (scholars dress like teachers, teachers dress like scholars) - scholars and staff are getting into the spirit! Today was Sports Day and tomorrow is School Colors Day - we will see each grade representing their color (8th graders wear black, 7th wear blue, and 6th wear white) at tomorrow’s Staff vs Scholars Volleyball Game!

See below for an update regarding our concert, Parent Caregiver Organization, and winter break COVID testing.

Successful Concert
Last night’s winter Band and Orchestra concert was a TREMENDOUS success. Our 6th and 7th & 8th Grade Bands along with the Jazz Band, Chamber Ensemble, and String Orchestra performed in front of a full auditorium! Our scholars displayed skills and talents nurtured by our outstanding VPA staff. Many thanks to Ms Chanler, Mr Watts, and our CSUS VPA team for their commitment to our scholars and their artistic development. Much appreciation to the many members of our Cambridge Street community - caregivers, scholars, and staff past and present -  who showed up to support scholars and the arts! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in January for our Winter Choral Concert and Art Show.

Step Up For Our Scholars!
This year the Cambridge Street Upper School Parent Caregiver Organization is stepping up in many ways:

  • Helping to cover school field trips for all grades
  • Providing grocery gift cards to support families over school breaks
  • Subsidizing programs and initiatives such as Dramafest, Attendance Incentives, and Small Learning Communities
  • Offering teacher appreciation events
  • And much more!

For the PCO to step up, we need you to step up with a year-end donation. Please donate today to help us reach our $10,000 goal.

The CSUS PCO is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (tax ID number 46-1980223), so all donations are tax-deductible. Ask your employer if they'll step up too with a matching donation!

Thank you for your support, and best wishes for a happy and restful winter break.

COVID Tests Distributed Today
We encourage every student and staff member to take a rapid test before returning to school after the break.
  • If negative and do not have symptoms, we will see you at school.
  • If positive or negative but have symptoms, please stay home and notify the school as you would for any other excused absence.

In addition to our current COVID-19 policies and procedures we ask that all students, families, and staff continue to monitor for symptoms, use COVID tests as necessary, and stay home when you are not feeling well. Masking and hand washing are also great ways to protect yourself and others against illnesses.
