School Site Council and Equity Team
CSUS’ School Site Council and Equity Team will meet virtually this Thursday, November 9 from 6-7PM. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the group and to understand the election process. If you are interested in joining the CSUS School Site Council or Equity Team, or in learning more about these opportunities please email me at [email protected]

According to the CPS School Council Handbook,
A School Council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, under both state and federal law (MGL Chapter 71, Section 59C, ESSA). The School Council improves student outcomes by engaging its community in site-based decision-making to develop a shared vision of the school. This type of collaborative decision-making also allows teachers and administrators to work with parents and the community to become more responsive to the needs of a particular school's population.

Reminder from our School Nurse: Scoliosis Screening
Every year the state of Massachusetts requires all school nurses to perform postural screenings on students in grades 5 through 9. This simple visual examination allows us to see if your child’s spine (backbone) is growing properly. This year's screening will take place in school during the week of November 13th, 2023.  The vast majority of students are without postural problems. Your child will be asked to see a doctor/pediatrician as a precaution only if there is an unusual finding.

The exam will be performed individually in a completely private setting. To help us with the screening, your child should wear a tank top or bathing suit top underneath their clothing to school on these days.

Please sign this form or email Nurse Ruth at [email protected] only if you do not want your child to be screened. Please call 857.235.2974 if you have any special concerns.

Important upcoming dates:
November 10th:
Veterans Day - No School
November 12:
Diwali (observed)
Week of November 13:
Scoliosis screening at school
November 15th:
Early Release Day - scholars dismiss at 12:55PM
November 22:

Thank you for entrusting us with your scholars’ education. Go Cobras!
