All CSUS staff members participate in a Cultural Proficiency Seminar consisting of members from various grades, teams, and positions within our school community. Six seminars meet weekly and are facilitated by two of the school's nine cultural proficiency team members.
Our Vision: Scholars will gain knowledge, voice, and agency in order to challenge individual and systemic racism and navigate them for success.
Our Mission: Individually and as a CSUS team we work to recognize and address the negative effects of individual and systemic racism on our scholars through our teaching and daily interactions.
- Facilitate learning and planning with staff to encourage individuals to push themselves to identify their strengths and challenges and grow and expand their lenses in order to address needs.
- Promote community involvement and engagement to educate our wider community, empower and support scholars, and provide opportunity for scholars to build their own agency.
- Build agency, competency, and capacity in teachers to make real world connections in the classroom and fight to change district/school/classroom policies that do not promote cultural proficient values and goals.
- Build sustainability within staff, community, and scholars.
