Changes in Academic Marking Periods and Report Card/Progress Report System
Posted on 10/23/2014
Dear CSUS Parents and Caregivers,

This year the Upper School Network has changed the academic marking periods and the Report Card and Progress Reporting system. We are no longer operating on a trimester system. Instead we will have two semesters with 2 quarters within each semester. Progress Reports will be issued 1st and 3rd quarters(mid-semester) and Report Cards will be issued 2nd and 4th quarters. The specific marking period is as follows:

Semester 1: September 2nd-January 23rd
Quarter 1 Progress reports sent home by November 14th
Quarter 2 Report cards sent home by January 30th

Semester 2: January 26th - June 17th
Quarter 3 Progress reports sent home by April 10th
Quarter 4 Report cards sent home by June 19th

CSUS will hold progress report conferences on Nov. 6th. We chose this day because it is an early release day, which will provide the opportunity for conferences to begin in the early afternoon. The actual progress report will not be ready for distribution at that time, but all teachers will be prepared to discuss your child’s academic progress.

On Friday (10/24) you will receive information about your child’s grade level conference schedule. The sign-up details will be outlined but if the date and times do not match your availability you are encouraged to contact your child’s advisor to schedule a conference for another time.

If you have any questions about the conferences please contact your child’s advisor or teachers. Please feel free to contact me or Asst. Principal Sohn with other concerns about academic reporting.

Thank you for your continued support!

Peace,

Manuel J Fernandez
