Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,
Autumn is upon us! It is awesome to see instruction in full swing at Cambridge Street. In 6th grade math, scholars are learning about ratios, and drawing diagrams to represent their ideas. In 7th grade Critical Issues,
scholars are learning about voter suppression. In 8th grade ELA, scholars are continuing to read and analyze the text All American Boys. Ask your scholar about what they are reading and thinking about in their classes this week!
Listening Conferences are underway. Look out for an email from your child’s advisor inviting you to sign up; this is an opportunity to connect and for our teaching team to learn more about your scholar, their goals, and how we
can best support your scholar and your family this year.
Please see below for important news and updates regarding Clubs and Activities, Weekly Homework, School Council Elections, Electronic Scooters and Bikes, and Family Book.
CSUS Athletics and Clubs
If your child is interested in participating in a sport or club with CSUS, now is the time to sign up! See below for information related to

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly HW Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments,
our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.
Grade 8 Weekly Homework
Grade 7 Weekly Homework
Grade 6 Weekly Homework
School Council Elections are here - please vote here (link will remain open until next Tuesday; ballot box also available in Main Office)!
According to the
CPS School Council Handbook,
A School Council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, under both state and federal law (MGL Chapter 71, Section 59C, ESSA). The School Council improves student outcomes by engaging its community in site-based decision-making to develop a shared vision of the school. This type of collaborative decision-making also allows teachers and administrators to work with parents and the community to become more responsive to the needs of a particular school's population.
Our council should have 4-6 Parent/Guardian/Caregivers Representatives. Thank you to those who reached out with nominations. Please vote for our Cambridge Street Upper School Site Council representatives here.
To learn more about these opportunities please email me or Director of Family & Community Engagement Dr Raymond Porch at [email protected]. A number of other caregivers asked how they can help support
teaching, learning, and community building at Cambridge Street.
Family Book
FamilyBook is a secure, online family directory available at every one of our schools. It provides contact information for the purpose of sharing information
and building community. FamilyBook is a great opportunity for families to share contact information, especially as your child’s social circle widens in middle school. Sign Up for the FamilyBook Here!
Quick reminder: Scooters and bikes
A reminder that scholars traveling via bike and scooter must bring equipment to lock up their wheels; bikes and scooters should not
be brought inside the school building. We strongly encourage scholars not to use electric scooters as there is nowhere to charge or store them safely. Electronic scooters cannot be stored inside the school building.
