Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,
I hope this email finds you well. It has been a heavy, emotional few days for our Cambridge Street community. I am deeply appreciative of our staff, who have been tremendous supporters to scholars and to one another. I am also grateful
for our wider CSUS and CPS family, who have shared their love and shown up to offer help at our building. Our team is committed to continuing to support our scholars, families, and one another in the days and weeks to come.
Please see below for information regarding our upcoming family support opportunity, weekly homework Family Book, Election Day Bake Sale.
Virtual meeting for caregivers with Riverside Trauma Center October 23 at 7PM
To help caregivers supporting their scholars at this time, the district has retained the services of Riverside Trauma Center, who will be hosting a virtual meeting for parents, caregivers and community members this Wednesday, October 23 at 7PM.
We are partnering with Riverside for a guided conversation with a qualified clinician from that group to discuss navigating children’s reactions to and how to have difficult conversations about suicide loss and grief following
the recent tragic death of Darya, an 8th grader at our school. During this time, we’ll discuss:
- Ways to start and have discussions with your child about death and other related issues, in a safe and supportive manner
- Common reactions to death in adolescence
- How to reduce and manage stress
- How to recognize signs of struggle and seeks support for your child when needed
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions; I will be present as well. If you are interested in attending this Wednesday’s session at 7PM, please use the following Zoom link: https://cpsd-us.zoom.us/j/92890929146.
CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly HW Calendars

Family Book
FamilyBook is a secure, online family directory available at every one of our schools. It provides contact information for the purpose of sharing information
