Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,

I hope everyone is enjoying the springtime weather!

Our new Family Liaison will be starting this week. I am excited to share that Dyavana Howard is joining us beginning Thursday to support scholars and families! We are eager to welcome Dya back to CSUS, where she has worked previously as an inclusion assistant and as our Senior Clerk.

Please see below for art work from our scholar artists of the week, information from the CSUS PCO about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and Monday’s PCO meeting, and important upcoming dates at Cambridge Street.

Rising 9th Grade' Parents Info Session
Dear 8th grade parents,

This is a reminder that tomorrow, March 12, there is a parent-to-parent information event for how to navigate CRLS. Due to the low interest, there will not be a similar CSUS event, so please join RAUC parents:

Families of RAUC is especially inviting 8th grade parents/caregivers to a “Parent-to-Parent Advice on How to Navigate CRLS” from 6:30-8PM on March 12, on Zoom and in-person at Rindge Avenue Upper School cafeteria (70 Rindge Ave.) to meet other parents/caregivers and also learn helpful information about how to help your child get the most out of CRLS. A panel of CRLS parents will speak about what they wish they knew when they started at CRLS, followed by questions. Interested 8th graders and other middle school parents are welcome.

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly HW Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.

CSUS School Council Slides
Last week our School Council reviewed CSUS’ midyear iReady data. We saw tremendous growth for scholars across all grades in ELA and also saw many scholars meet midyear median growth expectations in math. This data is part of the wider profile of information about scholars that we use to identify how to adjust and improve classroom instruction.

The slides from last week’s meeting are available here. We appreciate your thoughts and feedback as we use this data to inform our next instructional work. If you have questions, ideas to share, or would like to connect to discuss this data further, please complete this survey.

Other Important Upcoming Dates

Thank you for entrusting us with your scholars’ education, and for your ongoing support of our community.

Go Cobras!
