Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,

June is upon us! CSUS is kicking off the month with incredible news - our CSUS Flagway Team came in first place in the 2025 National Flagway Competition in San Francisco. Congratulations to our amazing Flagway team!

Scholars also participated in this weekend’s Cobra Dash! Scholars ran in the 1-lap, relay, and 1-mile race. All race winners received prizes!

We hope you are ready for the exciting events in the coming weeks - scholars are reflecting on their growth this year and are eager to share their final portfolios with you.

Please see below for information about weekly homework, this week’s Band and Orchestra Concert and Art Show, and important reminders from our PCO and important upcoming dates for our community!

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly HW Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.

From Ms. Danen: All Library Books Due by June 12

READ, RETURN, REPEAT at your library.

All CSUS library books are due back to the library by June 12th. Please help your scholar look around your house, car, backpacks, etc., and have them return any library books that you find. CSUS books all have a bright yellow sticker that says CSUS on it. Thank you for your support.

Cambridge Community Pride Day
Students are invited to our 4th annual student-led Community Pride Day! This year’s event will feature student performers, an opportunity for youth to learn from community partners, and plenty of joy and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. Middle schoolers should bring their permission slip to Ms. Javors and Ms. Oana.

  • Friday, June 6 | 3:30 - 6PM | Cambridge Rindge & Latin School – Arts Building and Outside
  • Full details on our website
  • For a more family-oriented event, please come to City of Cambridge Pride on Sun., June 8, 11-2, at City Hall!

From Our PCO
Band & Orchestra Concert + Art Show - TOMORROW, June 4th
Our final fundraising bake sale will take place before and after the rescheduled Art Show and the Band & Orchestra Concert. If you're able to bake/bring some goodies, provide snacks and/or be able to help put on the evening, please add your name to the spreadsheet.

As always, thank you for your help in making our events a success. We really appreciate your support and really couldn't do this without you.

Additionally, the Art Club is running a free savory refreshment stand for the scholars, so please consider donating items here

PCO End of Year Auction - ending this week!
Our online auction is going strong with some items sold and bid placed on most others. Thanks to generous donations from local businesses, you can bid on gift cards to local restaurants, fun days out and more (or pay slightly more and guarantee your win!) All proceeds go to the CSUS PCO to help support field trips, teacher appreciation, grocery gift cards for families in need and more. The auction will be open until June 7th, 2025, so get your bids in, and good luck!

Check out the online auction >>

THE PCO NEEDS YOU!!!
Our final meeting is in two weeks and we will hold elections for next year's board. Being on the PCO board is the best way to get to know fellow parents and the amazing CSUS staff, while supporting your children.

All roles are open, but in particular we are looking for a parent who is good with numbers to help out our treasurer and a parent who knows how to organize a small team and run meetings to help out with leadership.

Please reach out to the PCO president for any questions or if you are interested in getting involved: [email protected]
