Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,

Our second to last week of school is upon us! Yesterday was 8th grade graduation. I always approach graduation with mixed emotions - it is wonderful to see our scholars continue in their journey, and sad to watch them leave. Last week’s Cobra Capstones were, as always, an impressive and emotional way to conclude our 8th graders' time at CSUS. So many of our visitors were deeply moved by scholars' academic and social emotional growth and reflection. I am always re-reminded of the tremendous privilege it is to witness these formative years of scholars' lives, and am looking forward to the 6th Grade Breakfast today and 7th Grade Portfolio Night on June 23.

In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.

Important update: Summer Reading
We are excited to present to you Summer Reading 2025! Students are asked to read at least five books this summer. Additionally, each student has selected one book to read from their grade level list and will receive a copy of the book in the coming days. Students are asked to read their books during the summer and to return in September ready to discuss their books in small book clubs. We are excited to use our summer reading program to launch our year-long learning in ELA!

From Ms. Danen: All Library Books Due by June 12

READ, RETURN, REPEAT at your library.

All CSUS library books are due back to the library by June 12th. Please help your scholar look around your house, car, backpacks, etc., and have them return any library books that you find. CSUS books all have a bright yellow sticker that says CSUS on it. Thank you for your support.

Field Trip Funding
Dear families,

As the year comes to an end we thank you all for your ongoing support. None of the PCO activities would have been possible without it.

As you know, our main goal is to ensure all students attend all activities with no payment requested. This has been our model for the past two years and we are proud of it. However, the PCO cannot fund these activities, and in particular the field trips, without your donations.

If you haven't already donated towards the end-of-the-year field trips or activities, we humbly ask that you consider doing so. Any amount helps! You may use any of the following links.

Accessing Screening Reports in ParentSquare

Grade 3-8 families will receive i-Ready screener reports through ParentSquare the by the end of the school year.

An active ParentSquare account is needed to view reports sent through ParentSquare.

How to Access Reports in ParentSquare (Mobile Application):

On the bottom section of the page, select Alerts.
Select the document you want to view and click View Document. Secure document notices are marked by a page with a lock icon.*

How to Access Reports in ParentSquare (Website):

From the Home page, select Alerts and Notices on the left, then select the Document tab.
Locate the document you want to view and click View Document to open the file.*

*Families must sign in again to verify their identity before viewing the document.
