Good Afternoon CSUS Families and Caregivers,

Cobra Capstone week is here! This is one of the most special and meaningful times of year - the opportunity for our 8th graders to reflect upon and celebrate their learning and growth! I hope you are able to join us for a Capstone or another end of year celebration with our 6th and 7th graders; our 6th grade Caregiver Breakfast is next Wednesday and our 7th grade Portfolio Night is on June 23.

As the end of the year approaches and our celebratory events continue, I want to make sure our community is aware that our 8th grade graduation will take place on June 17 at 3PM. To accommodate graduation, please note that CSUS will dismiss at 12PM next Tuesday June 17. King Open and our feeder elementary schools will dismiss at their usual times. Graduation is for 8th graders and their families. It is a ticketed event. Grade 6 and 7 scholars and alumni must have a ticket in order to attend the graduation ceremony. We are looking forward to celebrating the CSUS Class of 2025!

From Ms. Danen: All Library Books Due by June 12

READ, RETURN, REPEAT at your library.

All CSUS library books are due back to the library by June 12th. Please help your scholar look around your house, car, backpacks, etc., and have them return any library books that you find. CSUS books all have a bright yellow sticker that says CSUS on it. Thank you for your support.

From Our PCO

THE PCO NEEDS YOU!
Our final meeting is in two weeks and we will hold elections for next year's board. Being on the PCO board is the best way to get to know fellow parents and the amazing CSUS staff, while supporting your children.

All roles are open, but in particular we are looking for a parent who is good with numbers to help out our treasurer and a parent who knows how to organize a small team and run meetings to help out with leadership.

Please reach out to the PCO president for any questions or if you are interested in getting involved: [email protected]

Field Trip Funding
Dear families,

As the year comes to an end we thank you all for your ongoing support. None of the PCO activities would have been possible without it.

As you know, our main goal is to ensure all students attend all activities with no payment requested. This has been our model for the past two years and we are proud of it. However, the PCO cannot fund these activities, and in particular the field trips, without your donations.

If you haven't already donated towards the end-of-the-year field trips or activities, we humbly ask that you consider doing so. Any amount helps! You may use any of the following links.

Thank you again and we wish you an amazing summer!

Final PCO meeting of the year
Please join our last (virtual) meeting of the school year 2024-25. As we wrap up the year with our final event (book swap - see below), we will be looking forward to school year 2025-26: goals, plans, and elections. Come to learn and share your voice in shaping the future of the CSUS PCO!

Book Swap Event – June 18th
Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We’re excited to invite our students to a Book Swap hosted by the PCO on Wednesday, June 18th in the library from 10 AM to 2 PM. During an allotted time with their teacher—such as during WIN—students will have the chance to explore and exchange books.

To make this event a success, we encourage families to support their scholars in bringing one or more books to swap. Students can bring in as many as they’d like!* We just ask that books be in good condition—no ripped pages or ink in the margins. *Books can be dropped off in the library anytime leading up to June 18th.

Even if a student doesn’t bring a book, they are more than welcome to come browse and find something that sparks their interest! Each child who picks up a book will also receive a goodie bag with a book-related sticker, bookmark, and reading tracker.

Thank you for your support in fostering a love of reading in our students!
