CSUS Tuesday Take Home: May 26, 2026

Message from Christen Sohn

Good afternoon CSUS parents and caregivers,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend, and is ready for the warm week ahead! Our school community is eager to see and hear our Chorus perform Thursday evening, and hope you will join us! Please note that the Art Show has been rescheduled to take place next Wednesday 6/3 alongside our Band and Orchestra Concert. We hope you can join us celebrating the arts at Cambridge Street this spring!

8th graders are also looking forward to this year’s Civics Showcase at the Massachusetts State House on Friday.

As we head into the final weeks of the year, there is much to look forward to and celebrate. It is also a time when our educators and I begin to look ahead and plan for next year. Scholar and family feedback is a crucial part of this planning. Please see below for information about the Panorama School Culture Survey and take a few minutes to complete it today.

Please see below for information about weekly homework, the District and School Culture Survey, the Spring Chorus Concert, the Cobra Dash, and important reminders from our PCO and important upcoming dates for our community!

Also - the end of the year is BUSY. Consider subscribing to our school calendar! - to subscribe to Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) Google Calendars, visit the district calendar page on the CPS website and select Cambridge Street’s school calendar, which allows you to add them directly to your personal Google Calendar or via iCal. Using the official CPS app is also recommended to get alerts and add events directly to your phone.

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly Homework Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.

Cambridge Street PCO Update

Hello families,

We’re going to pretend the long‑weekend weather didn’t happen and skip right past the fact that the end of the school year is barreling toward us.

So let’s focus on something better: the amazing week we have coming up. Not just two fabulous events, but three. Whether you’re hanging out or volunteering, we’d love to see you there!

Chorus Concert - Thursday May 28th from 6PM
We will host a bake sale during this event. You can sign up here if you'd like to provide some baked goods or help make a sale or two.

Cobra Dash and Community Night - May 29th, 5:30-7:30PM
It’s our biggest fundraiser of the yearo.  Get your kids signed up for the Cobra Dash  — prizes await and the energy is always fantastic. After the run, join us for Community Night with our auctin, food, games, and plenty of fun.

A quick note: Community Night isn’t a drop‑off event. We really want caregivers here to share the fun and help make the night feel like CSUS.

If you’re able to help set up, serve, or oversee a table, please add your name to the sign‑up sheet. If you'd like to help set up, serve or oversee a table please use this sign up sheet.

Auction — Now Live!
Our wider community has shown up in a big way, and we now have a fantastic list of items ready for bidding. Every dollar raised goes right back into supporting our students and families — from end‑of‑year field trips to team t‑shirts to teacher appreciation lunches.

Take a look, place a bid, and help us keep these traditions strong.

CSUS PCO Monthly Meeting
Our final meeting for the school year! Stop by to wish our 8th grade board members a fond farewell as well as hear what we discuss (and dare I suggest, sign-up to be a board member?)
