CSUS Tuesday Take Home: June 2, 2026

CSUS Tuesday Take Home: June 2, 2026

Message from Christen Sohn

Good afternoon CSUS parents and caregivers,

As we head into the final weeks of the year, there is much to look forward to and celebrate. It is also a time when our educators and I begin to look ahead and plan for next year - and CSUS needs your feedback! Information from the School and District Culture Survey provides important data to inform our thinking and next steps.

So far only 23% of CSUS families have responded - complete your survey here today.

The more families we hear from, the more prepared we at Cambridge Street can be to meet scholars' needs and cultivate a strong, supportive, successful community of learners!

As the weather continues to warm up, the celebrations of scholar work and achievement continue at CSUS! Our scholar vocalists displayed their considerable talents at last week’s Chorus concert, and 8th graders presented their Civic Action Projects at last Friday’s Civics showcase at the Massachusetts State House. As a community, we are eager to see scholar artwork and hear our Band and Orchestra perform tomorrow evening, and hope you will join us!

Please see below for information about weekly homework, this week’s Band and Orchestra Concert and Art Show, important reminders from our PCO and important upcoming dates for our community.

Also - the end of the year is BUSY. Consider subscribing to our school calendar! - to subscribe to Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) Google Calendars, visit the district calendar page on the CPS website and select Cambridge Street’s school calendar, which allows you to add them directly to your personal Google Calendar or via iCal. Using the official CPS app is also recommended to get alerts and add events directly to your phone.

CSUS Homework Expectations and Weekly Homework Calendars
In an effort to keep scholars, caregivers, and out of school time providers informed regarding weekly assignments, our teaching teams are sharing weekly homework calendars. These will be posted on our website for reference and easy access.

Cambridge Street PCO Update

Hello families,

The beginning of June and the countdown to the end of the school year begins in earnest. Fun fact: did you know that June has several national holidays- from the important Junteenth to the delightfully silly National Rocky Road Day. And honestly, who among us would dismiss a day dedicated to an ice-cream that has chocolate and marshmallows?

In the meantime, we have a few more events to attend and opportunities to raise more funds from the generosity of our community.

Art Show and Band & Orchestra Concert - Wednesday, June 3, 5PM
We will host a bake sale during this event. You can sign up here if you'd like to provide some baked goods or help make a sale or two.

Auction — Now Live!
Our wider community has shown up in a big way, and we now have a fantastic list of items ready for bidding. Every dollar raised goes right back into supporting our students and families — from end‑of‑year field trips to team t‑shirts to teacher appreciation lunches.

Take a look, place a bid, and help us keep these traditions strong.

Cobra Dash and Community Night
Thank you to everyone who came out to help and celebrate. Despite the threat of rain, the skies held, and the kids excelled — whether running laps or strolling with friends. Special prizes will be awarded later this month.

CSUS PCO Monthly Meeting
Our final meeting for the school year! Stop by to wish our 8th grade board members a fond farewell as well as hear what we discuss (and dare I suggest, sign-up to be a board member?)
