NetPalsOn Thursday, January 17th, the whole CSUS seventh grade went on field trips to meet their NetPals at local companies in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. NetPals is a six-month program planned collaboratively by science teacher Erika Riddington, Cambridge School Volunteers' NetPals Director Meg Ramsdell, and our school's corporate partners: the Broad Institute, Neon Therapeutics, Philips, IBM, and Novartis.

NetpalsThe program includes emails, company field trips, and school visits. Students got to see where their NetPals work in this first visit. Pictured, you can see some of our experiences at Philips, where the NetPals design health care diagnostics, systems, and robotics. The pictures show CSUS students running an ultrasound machine, modeling laparoscopic surgery, and testing robotic control of the CT-scan. The bluish photo is from the "NICU of the future". We look forward to more visits and emails with our NetPals to get a taste of what it's like to work in STEM. Ask your seventh grader about their NetPal.
