Message from Manuel J. Fernandez: January 9, 2019

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Happy New Year! I wish you peace and good health in 2019.

Winter Showcase
Thank you to all that were able to attend our 7th Annual Winter Showcase. It was an amazing display of the skills and talents of our scholar-artists and the fine work of our Visual and Performing Arts staff and elective teachers. Thank you for your overwhelming support. The high capacity crowd was so appreciated by our scholars.

Scholar Identity Assembly - Honor
On Dec. 19, we held our monthly Scholar Identity Assembly highlighting the Honor attribute from our school logo. At each assembly scholars and staff recite the scholar contract, I am a Scholar. Last month scholars defined honor as a noun and a verb. Scholars also shared examples of how we show honor at CSUS. Examples included honoring the environment, honoring scholar voice, honoring self and others, and honoring one’s learning. We also had a presentation on our Peer Mediation program and a photo montage by 6th graders on What Honor Means to Me. On Jan. 30 we will highlight the scholar identity attribute Originality.
