Congratulations to the winners of the Cambridge Public Library/Cambridge Tree Project Eighteenth Annual Poetry Awards from the Cambridge Street Upper School! There were nearly 1,000 entries and CSUS stood out . We congratulate everyone who entered for their wonderful poems.

CSUS winners are:

  • Laila Nunes, Second Place (tiie), Sixth Grade for “The Baby”
  • Emmie Knippen, Honorable Mention, Sixth Grade for “Inspiration”
  • Kali Johnston, Honorable Mention, Sixth Grade for “Receiver”
  • Sanae Janelle Lewis, Third Place (tie), Seventh Grade for her untitled poem beginning “I can no longer sit here” 

The awards ceremony and reading will be held Tuesday, May 24 at 6PM in the Lecture Hall at the Main Library, 449 Broadway (next to Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School).  

Family, friends, and teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend the ceremony.
